Cincinnati Technologies was established in 1998, but the technical staff of Cincinnati Technologies have been a tight-knit team since long before that time. The group first formed at Cincinnati Microwave, renowned for its radar warning receiver technology.

While at Cincinnati Microwave, the team participated in the development of the world's first spread spectrum cordless phone. Escort Phone, designed, built, and sold by Cincinnati Microwave.
